Vagas Para (02) Contractor Social Performance Officer (m/f)

Our client is a multinational company operating within the energy sector.

Role and Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Contributing to the identification of bottlenecks, opportunities for improvement, and lessons learned in relation to the SED (Social and Economic Development) strategy.
  • Contributing to the identification of bottlenecks, opportunities for improvement, and lessons learned specifically related to the contractors’ social and economic development practices.
  • Collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to develop the annual (52-week) plan for contractors’ social and economic development, ensuring it aligns with company strategy.
  • Raising awareness and ensuring an understanding of contractors’ social and economic development performance requirements defined in contracts, collaborating with the Contracts & Procurement (C&P) team to compile a database of contractor social management requirements.
  • Ensuring that grievances related to the construction contract footprint are accurately registered in the grievance framework, based on performance standards.
  • Working closely with contractors to ensure they are aware, understand, and have the capacity to meet social and economic development performance requirements.
  • Designing and delivering training modules on social and economic development performance for contractors.
  • Overseeing the implementation of the contractor social and economic development performance verification, monitoring, and assurance system to ensure contractors meet their obligations. This system will prioritize activities based on key drivers of social risk, such as location, geography, community interface, and workforce.
  • Collaborating with contractors to address any identified gaps in SED (Social and Economic Development) Performance.
  • Serving as the main point of contact between construction contractors and the socioeconomic development team.
  • Conducting regular monitoring and evaluation of construction contractors’ social and economic development programs.
  • Providing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual reports on contractor social performance, as required.
  • Implementing standardization and monitoring processes across all functions within the stakeholder engagement plan.
  • Developing scopes of work for consulting and technical services related to stakeholders’ engagement plans.
  • Managing contracts within the scope of work in line with company guidelines.
  • Reviewing reports from implementing partners (IP) and providing guidance to achieve objectives outlined in the Scope of Work (SOW).
  • Driving continuous improvement using lean methodology within the SED department and cross-cutting functions.
  • Maintaining and updating institutional memory.

Requirements

The following qualifications and skills are required for this role:

  • A Master’s Degree in economics, social science, rural development, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably with a combination of Social and Economic Development and Contracting & Procurement expertise.
  • Experience in supervising qualitative data collection is necessary.
  • Proficiency in English and Portuguese (fluency in one of the key languages from Cabo Delgado is advantageous).
  • A detailed understanding and experience in qualitative data collection.
  • Project Management Office (PMO) skills in a cross-cutting environment.
