Our Client operates as a multinational company within the Oil & Gas sector.

ROLE

Reporting to the HSE Operations Manager, your primary responsibility will be to ensure safe and environmentally responsible work practices. This includes implementing and overseeing company and contractor HSE systems, processes, and procedures to achieve project HSE objectives. You’ll set an example by adhering to TEPMA1 golden rules and STOP Card Stop Work Authority. Implementing relevant occupational health and hygiene procedures, conducting regular safety, health, hygiene, and environmental inspections at construction sites, accommodation areas, and canteens are also part of your duties. Additionally, you’ll lead awareness programs on potential work-related risks, accident prevention, and occupational health issues. Ensuring contractors comply with agreed processes and systems, recording daily equipment checks, documenting unsafe conditions, and taking immediate action to prevent recurrence are essential tasks. Transparent reporting on site HSE matters to the project and site HSE managers, ensuring contractors adhere to HSE plans, conducting engagement sessions, and supporting incident investigations are crucial responsibilities. You’ll also assist in emergency responses, support performance monitoring, promote a positive environmental culture, and implement waste management and biodiversity monitoring programs.

Requirements

– Bachelor’s degree or diploma in management or H&S Engineering fields.
– Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction operations or similar HSE roles.
– Possession of HSE Training and competencies.
– Familiarity with Mozambique’s HSE legislation.
– Fluency (Oral and Written) in Mozambican/Portuguese (Native) and English.
– Understanding of local cultural sensitivities and legal requirements is necessary.
